Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy pointed out that if the government loses one rupee due to the lockdown, the common man will lose four. During the Spandana video conference with the officials, the chief minister directed district collectors and SPs to be on high alert in the coming months in the wake of the second wave of Covid-19 spreading rapidly.
At present, about 340 metric tonnes of oxygen is being supplied every day and it’s sufficient. Stating further, he said only people with SPo2 level below 94 should be provided oxygen. Instructions have been given to the officials to conduct walk-in interviews to fill vacancies in the health department and complete the recruitment process within 48 hours.
The Chief Minister directed the officials to grant permission only to 50 people to attend functions and to ensure people do not gather at gyms, parks and swimming pools. Jagan said that seven crore vaccine doses per month are being produced in the country of which one crore is Covaxin and the remaining Covishield. He said that 11.30 lakh people have received both shots of the vaccine while 45.48 lakh people above 45 have been given a single dose.
He said district Collectors should monitor the ‘104’ call centers and ensure their effective functioning. ‘104’ call centre should be one-stop solution to all Covid-related problems and everybody should register in their minds, the chief minister said, asking the collectors to ensure adequate numbers of doctors are available for the centres. He said a total of 355 hospitals have been identified in the districts for treatment of Covid with a bed capacity of 28,377 in which 17,901 beds are occupied.
Joint Collectors of every district should completely focus on tackling Covid in the districts. Also, stern action will be taken against those people spreading rumours and creating panic among people.
