Amidst this lock down Visakhapatnam Steel Plant narrowly escaped a tragic calamity this Thursday.
Visakhapatnam Steel Plant also known as Vizag Steel is the first integrated shore-based Steel Plant in India. It is a Navratna Company under the ministry of Steel, Govt. of India. Established in the year 1982.
This Thursday, a ladle carrying 120 tons of molten steel spilled on ground at Visakhapatnam Steel Plant in the Continuous Casting Wing behind CMM-3. This accident was said to happen because of the main hoist of the crane developing a technical snag.
However, fortunately there were no causalities reported or any major damage to machinery nor equipment reported as per the plant officials.
