Warning that no hospital should turn away Covid-19 patients, Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy on Tuesday announced Rs 15,000 for the last rites of the victims. He also instructed officials to take up a week-long special drive to provide qualitative services in the quarantine centres.
Chairing a review meeting on Covid-19 containment measures here, the Chief Minister stressed the need for improving the quality of preventive measures. and said that every quarantine centre should display the call centre number for complaints and the officials should take feedback regularly.
In wake of the recent unpleasant events in dealing with the Covid-19 death cases, the Chief Minister said that Rs 15,000 should be given for the last rites of the deceased and instructed the officials to issue orders immediately. Strict action will be taken against those hospitals that refuse to treat Covid cases, Jagan said. He directed officials to focus on hygiene, medicines, quality of food being given to patients. Deputy Chief Minister Alla Nani, CS Neelam Sahni, DGP Gautam Sawang, KS Jawahar Reddy, Special Principal Secretary, Medical Health Department and several other senior officials of the department were present at the meeting.
