At least 16 migrant workers who were sleeping on railway tracks were crushed to death by a goods train on this Friday at Aurangabad.
The workers due to lockdown had decided to walk and reach their home safe. They were walking from Jalna, Maharashtra to Bhusawal, Madhaya Pradesh.
The workers after a long tiring walk of 45 Kms slept on the railway tracks due to exhaustion.
However, the railways said that the loco pilot tried to stop the train after seeing some labours on track but eventually the train hit them between Badnapur and Karmad stations in Parbhani-Manmad section.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expresses his anguish over twitter post and the MP government announces Rs. 5 Lakh compensation to the families of the affected.
