Naval Science & Technological Laboratory (NSTL), the premier naval research laboratory of Defence Research & Development Laboratory (DRDO), Visakhapatnam, is hosting two-day 16th All India Joint Hindi Seminar. The theme of the Seminar, underway at Mohapatra Manasi Auditorium, is “Contribution of DRDO towards Self-reliant India”.
The Seminar was inaugurated on Friday in NSTL. The Seminar is jointly organised by Hyderabad Cluster DRDO Labs; NSTL, RCI (Research Centre Imarat), ASL (Advanced Systems Laboratory), DMRL (Defence Materials Research Laboratory), DRDL (Defence Research & Development Laboratory), DLRL (Defence Electronics Research Laboratory), CHESS(Centre for High Energy Systems & Sciences) and Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Laboratory.
In his opening remarks, Dr Manu Korulla said: “This is the first time that NSTL is hosting the All India Joint Hindi Seminar,” and explained the background details and purpose of conducting the Seminar. Dr Ravindra Singh described the genesis of Hindi and how its usage has been transforming from time to time. He explained in detail, how various activities are being conducted in DRDO for encouraging the usage of Hindi in all administrative and technical correspondences.
In his address, Dr Nandagopan, Director NSTL, requested all scientists and officers to present papers in English as well as Hindi. Also, he urged all to strive towards making India self-reliant. Dr Samir V Kamat said that the theme is most relevant. He stressed on the importance of self-reliance both strategically and financially. He wished India to become an exporter rather than an importer. Chief Guest Dr DK Srinivas said that India is a peace-loving country. At the same time, it is our responsibility to prove that India is brave and self-reliant.
On this occasion, In-house Hindi magazines of RCI & NSTL and proceedings of the seminar were released. D Sailaja, the retired Hindi officer of NSTL, was felicitated in recognition of her services in implementing Hindi usage in NSTL.
