2500 coaches converted into isolation wards with 40000 beds

The target put up by the Indian railways is to convert the coaches into isolation wards, as of now half has been achieved, with 2500 coaches been converted into isolation wards with 40000 beds readied for the patient who have contracted the novel coronavirus.

As of now the railways have achieved the half target with 2500 coaches been converted into isolation wards and equipped with the essentials and medical requirements.

All the department, health to police, railways are all doing their part to combat this pandemic. About 375 coaches are being converted per day by the Indian railways across 133 locations in the country.

Manpower is falling short, as the count is spiking with the days passing by. The coaches have been equipped with medical advisories and supervision is being done aptly. Coaches are being prepared as a contingency and the supplement the efforts of the ministry of health in fighting the pandemic.
