The 50th National Safety Week at NTPC Simhadri has been concluded from 26th Feb to 04th Mar 2021 and a glittering function held at Plant Premises. Sri Diwakar Kaushik, Group General Manager, Sri J Siva Shankar Reddy, Joint Chief Inspector of Factories, Govt. of AP, Visakahpatnam, Sh. G C Choukse, General Manager(O&M), Sh. R.K Jha, General Manager(OPN), Sri Subash Garg, GM(Maint) & Sri. MNVS Bhaskar, GM(FM) have graced the concluding function and addressed the gathering.

The program started with ‘Safety Pledge’ administration. The guest of honor Sri J Shiva Shankar Reddy, Joint Chief Inspector of Factories, Visakhapatnam has praised the efforts of Simhadri Project in the area of Occupational Health and Safety Management. He stressed employees upon the need of togetherness and participatory approach to achieve best Safety culture. He also emphasized that under the changing societal perceptions on industries, Managements need to focus more on Safety, Health and Environmental issues right from the inception.

Sh. Diwakar Kaushik, Group General Manager in his address said that the Management is committed and explore all possible ways & means for the enhancement of accident-free working atmosphere at Simhadri Station. Sh. G C Choukse, GM(O&M) appealed all employees and workers to strictly follow all safety measures. Earlier Sh. CH Satyanarayana, AGM(Safety) appraised various Safety Activities like safety trainings, safety audits, safety campaigns and other awareness programs undertaken at Simhadri for accident prevention during the year 2020 – 2021.

Sh. Raja lingam, Representative from Union addressed the gathering and pledged to extend all the support of Union for the cause of Safety.

A Safety skit on importance of safety in life was played by safety supervisors which was well received by the spectators. Prizes were given to the winners various safety competitions conducted during the safety week. The programme was attended by all employees of NTPC, CISF and Contracting Associates of Simhadri.
