Nine travel agencies owners who were allegedly booking and selling tickets from IRCTC portal illegally were booked by the RPF (Railway Protection Force) on Thursday.
These agents were illegally selling tickets and during the investigation, the RPF arrested them and also seized about 593 tatkal tickets of worth Rs 9.58 Lakh.
Booking AC and sleeper class tickets are not allowed in a particular time according to IRCTC rules but these agents were found guilty as they were using their fake IDs and booking tickets and selling the tatkal tickets at a premium cost.
Such an illegal act is considered offensive under section 143 of the Railway act. Where common man under emergency contact these agents were not only charging extra money but were also breaking the decorum of the railways.
There were many involved in this but the accused who have been caught are M. Venkata Rao of SKS Tours and Travels, Akkayyapalem; K. Kondala Rao of VL Travels, Seethammapeta; K.N. Raj Kumar of Sri Sai Chandra Solutions, Kurmannapalem; Y. Satish of SV Travels Duvvada, S.K. Dal Behara of Care Travels and Tours, Dabagardens; K.V. Rajesh Kumar of Sai Karthikeya Communications, Chinamusidiwada; M. Surya Narayana Murthy of Surya Sai Internet, Chinamusidiwada; V. Ganesh Kumar of Kavya Travels and Keethi Online Services, Rajam; and B. Jagadeswara Rao of Cyber Street Travels, Srikakulam.
