Former Intelligence chief AB Venkateswara Rao on Tuesday wrote to the IPS Officers’ Association accusing the State Government of hatching a conspiracy and foisting criminal cases against him. Alleging that the Government wants to place him under suspension by sending him to judicial remand by framing him in false criminal cases, the IPS officer claimed to have proof in support of his statement.
He charged the government with not allowing him to work for months together and denying him his pay to harass him. ABV urged the Association to convene a meeting of the general body so that he gets a chance to explain everything. He demanded an impartial inquiry into the alleged omissions and commissions of the State Government.
ABV’s letter, addressed to Association secretary Dwaraka Tirumala Rao, created a sensation among IPS circles, since the officer expressed apprehension of his possible arrest anytime by the weekend, since Saturday and Sunday are holidays for the court. The government plans to suspend him again, citing the arrest as a pretext, ABV wrote. He also sent a copy of the letter to the All-India IPS Officers Association. In the letter, ABV pointed out to Dwaraka Tirumala Rao how the latter and the Association responded to the action taken on Intelligence ADG Rajendranath Reddy.
