Close on the heels of declaring Visakhapatnam as executive capital, the land prices are witnessing a steep rise and the instances of unauthorized occupations of lands continue unabated. Due to this, the state government is all set to take responsibility to protect the lands of poor and middle-class people. As per the orders of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, stringent action will be taken on those who indulge in unauthorized occupation of government lands and manipulations.
Kurasala Kannababu, Minister of Agriculture and Cooperation and District in-charge has directed the officials concerned to identify government lands, which were encroached in the Visakhapatnam district, and submit a detailed report on them within two weeks. He also instructed the registration department to adopt adequate safeguards before doing registrations. Otherwise, stringent action will be initiated against sub-registrars and other senior officials who indulge in doing registrations for unauthorized occupied land in connivance of encroachers. The minister also directed the district collector V Vinay Chand to take immediate action on receipt of any complaint from the general public regarding the unauthorized occupation of government lands.
