Active number of cases in India hits the 1 lakh mark


India has recorded 8,000+ cases for the fourth consecutive day, and has made the biggest one day jump in recorded cases in the past 24 hours with 8,909 cases.

The coronavirus death toll in the country has reached 5,833. Active cases are at 1,02,010, and the number of discharged cases are at 1,00,398.

In Andhra Pradesh, 8,606 samples have been tested in the last 24 hours. 79 have tested positive for the virus, and 35 members have been discharged. 4 deaths have also been reported in the state – 2 from Chitoor, 1 from Krishna, and 1 from Kurnool.

The total number of cases in the state stands at 3,279, out of which 967 are actively under treatment. 2,244 have been discharged, and the death toll in AP is at 68. The total number of cases is the Vizag district stands at 118, with 5 new cases in the last 24 hours.
