Ravi Teja-starrer Krack, which has opened to good collections and decent reviews, has been picked by Aha for its digital release. The film is the Telugu streamer’s second major acquisition after Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavistarrer Love Story, which they bought last year itself. A source close to the development tells us, “The negotiations between Tagore Madhu’s Saraswati Films Division and Aha think-tank have gone on for almost a month last year before the latter managed to acquire the rights for Rs. 7 crore.
The fact that producer Madhu shares a great equation with Allu Aravind meant that he was in favor of Aha over other streamers. The film will drop on the OTT platform on January 29. Aha will promote it extensively in the run-up to the release.” Krack, which tells the story of a powerful cop Shankar’s tiff with three criminals of Ongole, has been particularly lapped up by the mass audience. Its success is a major boost to the actor-director duo of Ravi Teja and Gopichand Malineni as their previous films haven’t lived up to expectations. It has minted a share of Rs. 6.5 crore on day one from the Telugu states.
