With Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, last year’s monster hit, set to complete its first anniversary next week, the makers are planning to convene a reunion of sorts at Geetha Arts office premises, Hyderabad on January 11 evening. Invitations to this end have been extended to the principal cast and crew.
With COViD-19 scare still around, some of the members are wary about attending the event, it is said. If the organisers don’t get assurance from a majority, chances are that the event will be cancelled. Thaman’s live-performance is being planned at the event. Directed by Trivikram Srinivas, Ala Vaikunthapurr amuloo told the story of a youngster Bantu (played by Arjun) who finds his world shaken after he learns that he was swapped at birth with a millionaire’s son.
He later finds a way to enter Vaikunthapurram, the home of his real parents and confront those who threaten his family. The film, a joint production venture between Allu Aravind and S Radha Krishna, minted a share of more than Rs 150 crore at the box-office, emerging as Arjun’s career-best film revenue-wise.
