District Collector V Vinay Chand said that we are ready to provide any sort of information regarding the reorganization of the district to the government as and when they ask. Interacting with the media people here today in his chambers Mr. Chand spoke on several issues regarding the preparation of details relating to 3 parliamentary constituencies, 15 Assembly constituencies, 46 Mandals, and 963 Gram panchayats. Also, a comprehensive report has been prepared based on the geographical conditions, boundaries, including demographics and the area of actualization, he said.
Stating further Mr. Chand said for the reorganization of the districts in Andhra Pradesh, a special committee has been formed under the chairmanship of the chief secretary, who will look into various issues concerning the reorganization of districts, including controlling the administrative expenditure.
The basic objective of the reorganization of districts was to make optimum and effective utilization of human resources and infrastructure facilities. The state government felt that the existing districts are very large with huge populations making them difficult for the administration, he added
Mr. Chand made it clear that even though the Covid-19 positive cases are steadily declining, we are on alert mode as usual. All this became possible with coordination of all other departments working in unison for a single cause to arrest spike in COVID-19 in the district, he added. Also, it has been decided to conduct a 6000 to 6500 COVID-19 test every day. At present, 5500 COVID-19 tests are happening. From the coming week, the number of tests will be increased by 80 percent in urban areas and 20 percent in rural and agency areas. Extensive tests are being conducted in Active clusters and Very Active clusters and directed people with COVID-19 symptoms to do the tests promptly.

Land acquisition for NH-16 in Agency Areas
District Collector V Vinay Chand said for National Highway (NH-16) in the agency areas, the land acquisition process has been initiated. We have issued a 3A notice for land acquisition in 11mandals and handed over the responsibility to RDO Paduru. The NH-16 highway will be built from Koyyuru to Paderu with a distance of 134 km involving 11 Mandals, Mr. Chand added. At present, due to not having road connectivity to agency areas, people go via Narsipatnam, Araku, Anantagiri, and S Kota. Collector Vinay Chand hopes that direct access to roads will lead to progress in the agency areas.
