The School Education Department issued GO MS No. 63 on Monday stating that all mothers/guardians of students who were identified and validated through the social audit for the Direct Benefit Transfer under the scheme a whose children are studying from Classes I to XII during 2020-21, shall be eligible for the academic year 2020-21.
Mothers of students studying from classes I to XII during 2020-21 but covered in the previous academic year shall also be identified for extending the benefit based on certain criteria.
The criteria include that total family income (Rs.10,000 in rural and Rs, 12,000 in urban areas per month, total landholding in acres to less than three in wetland and 10 in dry land and a maximum of 10 in both wet and drylands, electricity consumption to be less than 300 units per month, government employee/pensioner is ineligible with an exemption for all sanitation workers, four-wheeler owners are ineligible with an exemption it is a taxi, tractor, and an auto-rickshaw; income tax payee is ineligible and while those whose municipal property is less than 1000 sft to become eligible for the scheme. The criterion for 70 percent attendance shall be exempted for qualifying for the DBT in view of the Covid-19 situation.
