Andhra Pradesh Government launches second phase of YSR Vahana Mitra scheme


Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy launches second phase of YSR Vahana Mitra scheme in the state, which benefits nearly 2,62,495 self employed auto,taxi and maxi cab drivers. An amount Rs10,000 to be credited to the beneficiaries accounts.

The purpose of the scheme is to provide support to them, for the incurring of expenses like insurance, fitness certificate, repairs and maintenance of the vehicle etc.

The YSR Congress Party Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said, that his parties motive is to ensure that no auto/taxi/maxi cab driver suffers to incur out of pocket expenses or opt for loans at a higher of interest.

He also added that if an eligible person has not applied or the name is left out, he/she can apply in ward office by the end of the month. And the eligible candidates will get the amount credited by 4th of next month.

He requested the drivers to renew the insurance and take the fitness certificate so the public would feel safe.

Though the actual date of disbursement of the amount should be October 4, 2020, on the completion of one year of the scheme’s launch. The amount is released in advance with an aim to reduce the financial burden caused by lockdown.

Total number of beneficiaries from visakhapatnam stood at 36,000 out of which 4,697 people are new beneficiaries who have applied for the scheme this year.
