The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet has decided to take back 500 acres, from the total 2700 acres of land, allotted for the construction of Bhogapuram airport near Vizag. This decision was taken at the cabinet meeting presided by the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday.
The company has agreed to develop the airport in 2200 acres according to the Andhra Pradesh Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Minister Perni Nani. The remaining 500 acres will be taken back and considered as government property.
The 500 acres will be further used as commercial space. The estimated land cost per acre in Visakhapatnam is likely to be around Rs.3crore and the government is expected to save Rs 1500 crore public wealth.
