With the cases of Covid-19 increasing day by day, private hospitals and diagnostic centers considering this as an advantage, started charging high amounts from the patients who are getting the CT scans done in their test centers. With the reports about a few private hospitals in the state charging heavy amounts for CT scans, the AP Government has decided to put a break to it and capped the CT scan service price for Rs.3,000. This price is fixed including the PPE kit and disposables. AP Government even warned the private laboratories over any violations.
The Government even formed a three-tier structure for effective implementation of Covid management in the state.
Now, it is mandatory for all the diagnostic facilities and hospitals offering CT scan services for suspected Covid cases need to register themselves on a government website with all details of the patient and the uploaded CT scan image will serve as a basis for hospital admissions.
So, now with the new move by the Government of Andhra Pradesh Covid patients in the state definitely got a relief from the increased rates that the private hospitals and labs are charging.
The capping system is not just imposed on CT scan rates, but the private hospitals in the state were also informed to limit the rates charged on masks, PPE kits used by the Covid patients during the treatment.
