APPUSMA (Andhra Pradesh Private Un – Aided Schools’ Managements’ Association) has filed a writ petition in W.P. 11803 of 2020 before the High Court of Andhra Pradesh against the State of Andhra Pradesh and others seeking relief to collect fee arrears of 2019-2020 and also for seeking permission to collect school fees for 2020-21.
The Present Writ is filed after giving repeated representations to the Government seeking permission to collect the Fee Arrears of 2019-20 and also for collection of School Fees for 2020-21.
Unfortunately, the government is ignoring the fact that the schools are functioning in online mode as most of the private school teachers are functioning fully from June 2020 as they are completely engaged for taking online classes. In fact, Online Education is expensive and involves lot of expenditure as observed by many High Courts of India in various Writ Petitions.
At present, we have filed this Writ Petition as the Fee Regulatory Commission and the Departmental Officers of Education Department, have regularly issuing Press Statements, Circulars restraining the Educational Institutions from collecting fees from the School Parents and also threatening with penal action.
Pending disposal of the Writ Petition, the High Court has passed Interim Orders restraining the Government of AP and other respondents, from in any way taking any coercive steps against the Institution. With the passing of this Interim Orders, now the Education Department or Fee Regulatory Commission cannot take any coercive steps against the Educational Institutions.
Now the present Writ Petition is posted to 10th August 2020 for Final Disposal. The Government or the Fee Regulatory Commission or other Respondents in the Writ Petition have not yet filed any counter for the Writ Petition so far inspite of time given by the High Court.
