Covid-19 has been affecting each one of us in one way or the other. Families with kids are experiencing really tough times. Keeping this in mind, the Andhra Pradesh government has established 13 Child Care Institutions (CCI) to take care of the children whose parents have contracted with Covid-19. The Child Care Institution also takes care of those children who have lost their parents due to Covid.
The CCI provides food, shelter and education to the children. 181 and 1098 are the two helplines that have been established by the AP government for any assistance.
This initiative came in rescue of three siblings from Terennapally in Anantapur after their father and mother tested positive for Covid-19. Their father is currently undergoing treatment in hospital while the mother is currently receiving treatment for her symptoms at home.
In fact the mother first thought of sending the children to their relatives home in Hindupur, but she was unable to do so as the relatives were unwilling to take care of the children. Then the CCI came to their rescue and the three kids were shifted to the care center at RK Samudram run by the Rural Development Trust (RDT).
So, now you know right, call the helpline and help any such children who needs to be taken care of if you come across any children whose parents contracted the virus.
