After the Centre had announced relaxations for public transportation, Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) is likely to resume its intra-state bus service across Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam and also regular inter district services among the districts from Thursday, May 21. However, wearing face masks and following physical distancing norms are mandatory for passengers.
Bookings can be done through APSRTC’s website, www.apsrtconline.in/oprs-web/, and bookings are possible only with mobile numbers registered on the Spandana portal or those which are accepted by the district administration as per the government guidelines.
Online booking was initially open for Super Luxury buses but now it has been extended to the ordinary buses as well and APSRTC will soon announce the details of the bus services routes.
However, it is learnt that the government has decided to run buses with half capacity only. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy stated that private buses will also be given permits to function and only 20 people will be allowed in to board the buses and all the passengers should follow social distancing norms.
