Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) of Visakhapatnam region is set to open two new logistics centres at Kurmannapalem and Madhurawada in next few weeks.
It aims to reach an annual turnover of Rs 200 crore from Visakhapatnam district. To reach the target, logistics services are equally important apart from regular passenger services, so the focus is to increase the logistics centres to generate higher revenue an official said.
As the city is to become the executive capital of the state, The government under Cheif Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy directed the Visakhapatnam district’s, corporation to make it a logistics hub apart from passenger services.
APSRTC aims to reach an annual turnover of Rs 2000 crore by march 2021, so as to achieve the target, Vizianagaram zone is asked to contribute Rs 600 crore including Rs 200 crore from Visakhapatnam district.
