Bala Vikasa Social Service Society organized a workshop on ‘Comparing American and Indian Constitutions’ to increase awareness for better civic engagement with the government bodies.
The two- day workshop aims to train and enable youth, from marginalised communities, better understand the shared tradition of constitutional democracy between India and United States. The workshop covered salient features of Indian and American constitutions and informed participants about rights and duties guaranteed under respective constitutions.
More than 70 students, from various districts of Andhra Pradesh participated in the workshop held at MSFS Dhyanasramam (White House), Vishakapatnam.
The workshop was inaugurated recently by special guests including Dr. Joe Christopher- Asst. Cultural Affairs Officer-US Consulate- Hyderabad , Mr. Rahul Bhardwaj-Bala Vikasa International Center Head, Mr. Pragnan Kumar -Director of Swanthana Seva Samithi-Vishakapatnam, Mrs. Annie, Mr. Narva Prakash Rao, Ms. Manjula Program Officer-Bala VIkasa , Mrs. Vasantha-Coordinator, Mr. Bhaskar Naik- Communications Specialist and Prof, D.Surya Praksah Garu- Chairman and faculty of Law in Dr.B R Ambedkar Law University, and Dr. Nandini , Damodaram Sanjeevaiah National Law University were the expert trainers and delivered the workshop.
The workshop was well received and enthusiastically supported by all the students. The certificate distribution was done by Mr David Moyer-Public Affairs Officer- US Consulate, Hyderabad, Mr. Mukthapuram Hari Krishna-AP CMO, GSN Raju -Vice Chancellor- Andhra University and others.
