The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is quite upbeat about the market estimates and will throw a surprise when the bidding for the Indian Premier League’s sponsorship will take place today at some point in time.
Many leading corporates are in the fray for clinching IPL title sponsorship rites for IPL 2020. Tata Group, digital education platforms Byju and Unacademy, Fantasy sports platform Dream 11, Ramdev’s Patanjali, and Reliance’s Jio Communications have submitted their “expression of interest”. BCCI certainly hopes to match Vivo’s Rs. 440 crores annual from this year’s title sponsorship.
But according to BCCI sources, it made it clear that the brand value of the IPL cannot be discounted while awarding the sponsorship rights to the eligible ones. Many people think that since for the first time IPL will be held during the festive season, most of the companies are willing to spend huge money that could spurt in demand.
