Boiler blast at NLC thermal power station in Tamil Nadu

NLC India Limited’s thermal power station (TPS) II in Neyveli, Tamil Nadu had witnessed a massive accident this Thursday when one of the Boiler blasted.

The TPS II has seven units out of which currently only three are functioning while the other are shut down for annual maintenance. The reason for the blast is yet to be ascertained.

Seven workers sustained severe injuries and massive smoke could be witnessed at the accident spot.

Rescue teams of NLC and fire services rushed immediately to control the situation and douse the massive blaze.

The plant operations have been shut down immediately and have been suspended for temporary time basis.
