Film actor and the former Minister K Chiranjeevi has embarked on another mega event as part of his charity services. The process of setting up Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust oxygen banks in all the districts of Telugu states has almost been completed. The megastar has announced that the oxygen banks would become operational within a week.
The oxygen banks were set up under the aegis of presidents of the district fan clubs. Oxygen cylinders were already dispatched to some districts on Tuesday, while they were made available in Anantapur, Guntur, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam and West Godavari districts on Wednesday. The oxygen cylinders and oxygen concentrators have already been sent from the Blood Bank to several districts in Telangana. The oxygen banks became functional from Wednesday in Khammam and Karimnagar districts. The cylinders would be sent to the hospitals based on the urgency in each district.
The charity programme was initiated with the intention that no one should die due to the lack of oxygen in the Telugu states. A special Twitter account has also been opened to receive requests for oxygen. The Chiranjeevi oxygen banks aimed to put an end to the oxygen crisis. Speaking on the occasion, Megastar Chiranjeevi said, “Oxygen supply will continue to all the districts in AP and Telangana through the Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust. The oxygen concentrators are ordered from China as there was an acute shortage in many places. We provide oxygen cylinders where ever people required them urgently.
The technicians are deployed to track the oxygen supply from the headquarters to the destination point. The supplies are monitored by the staff at Chiranjeevi Eye and Blood Bank Office. We endeavour to make oxygen available everywhere. The arrangements for this initiative will be supervised by the Ram Charan,” he said.
