The district administration has geared up for partial curfew from 12 pm to 6 am from Wednesday. All commercial establishments and hotels will remain closed during the curfew period. During the curfew period, only essential services will be allowed. Door delivery of rice and other commodities for cardholders will continue up to 7 pm.
transport and autos will not be allowed to ply during the curfew timings. However, there will be no restrictions on vehicles carrying essential commodities and inter-state goods carriages. Cases under District Management Act will be filed against those found violating curfew norms, the authorities said.
Meanwhile, Commissioner of Police Manish Kumar Sinha has devised a strategy to ensure effective implementation of the curfew. The focus will be on contactless policing and police personnel will work on three shifts from 6 am to 12 pm, 12 pm to 10 pm and 10 pm to 6 am, the commissioner said.
Special branch personnel will keep a watch on the movement in busy areas through drones from 6 am to 12 pm. SEB personnel will keep a tab on bar and liquor shops. Supermarkets, grocery stores and shops have been told to strictly observe Covid protocol, Sinha added.
The curfew will be implemented in coordination with the chamber of commerce by voluntarily closing the establishments within the scheduled time. There will be no grace period. There will be special beats and patrolling at shops and establishments to prevent property offenses, he said.
