City boy inspires youngsters to reach out to the needy


Hello Vizag brings to you the story of city boy Dhruv Advaith Kolagatla who was selected as the first PURE (People for Urban and Rural Employment) ambassador from India. Recognising his works with ICCE (International Centre for Culture and Education) in his leadership role as Climate counsellor for Green revolution and his brief proposal on knowledge sharing to needy students on renewable sources on environment sustainability, he was given the tag as ambassador, PURE Youth, Vizag Chapter. PURE is an US based NGO which works for providing education facilities to students from poor background.

After initiating the first chapter in India- the PURE Youth Vizag chapter, Dhruv took a lead in many other activities.

During the lockdown, he developed simple week day program ‘STAY HOME, STAY FIT’ free online fitness sessions with Wings for Life Foundation.

Realising the plight of needy during the pandemic, he plunged into the project ‘CLOTHES FOR CONFIDENCE’ distribution of new outgrown clothes from his and family wardrobe.

He was determined to setup basic libraries for the orphanages, realizing how important the reading culture is among the children. when direct schools are off and started the
BOOK DRIVE with his team.

In a span of 1 month, two libraries with 500+ good books from donations and their personal collections were set up for the underprivileged children of SOS Children’s Village Bheemunipatnam and Generation Yuvaa, Marripalem.

He and his team are seriously working on the environmental concerns and are are working on simple short videos to create more awareness.
