Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation has resumed city bus services in Visakhapatnam after the buses were restricted to bus stands for 181 days. This decision was taken by APSRTC keeping in view the movement of candidates attending the examinations for village and ward secretariat posts to be held from tomorrow onwards.
Initially 100 city buses started its operations today and the number will be tripled from tomorrow in order to reduce the crowding and delay for examinations. Passengers will be allowed to on board the bus only if they wear mask and maintain proper social distancing. Limited passengers will be allowed to on board the bus only to the extent of the seats available and zigzag method will be followed for seating arrangement as a part of safety measures and social distancing norms.
Today buses were operated from and to different routes including Old post office, Simhachalam, RTC complex, Maddilapalem, Tagarapuvalasa, Kothavalasa, Gajuwaka, RK beach after being properly cleaned and sanitised. Cleaning and sanitisation procedure will be carried out everyday.
