It is not what you have but what you have to offer at the time of need, that matters.
Lockdown was declared on March 24 and everything came to a cease from shops to multiplexes. But the people who were facing a backlash were the vendors, migrant workers, santitation workers and the underprivileged people.
Seeing such a scenario and also inspired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to feed the poor, the idea to do something for the needy was conceived by O Naresh Kumar, CEO, Symbiosys Technologies. SymKasi Viswanatha Raju of Jyothi Shipping Agencies and the programme was coordinated by Uday K Patta CEO of Pixel run LLP and M Tagore.
They went about the plan, on the information been provided by party cadres and founded a Clean spacious to cook meal. With the assistance of East Shirdi Sai Baba Temple the team cooked for about 3000 to 5000 hungry people on a daily basis.
Also a warm invitation was received from GVMC Project Director, Srinivas to provide food to the GVMC Public Food Shelters and Sanitary Workers in a couple of zones in the vicinity of city. Similarly assistance in providing food were received from the Police Department, Chest Hospital, NGOs etc.
K.V. Prasad of Sandhya Marines and Brahmandam Garu of Devi Sea Foods provided great help to the programme. They provided rice and other required essentials.
As it was a large plan to be executed, help was required from other people too. The Collaboration of the people from Art of Living and Neighborhood volunteering to assist in packing and providing food became a work at ease. About 10,000 people per day were fed with the passing of days.
GVMC Additional Commissioner, Mr. Sanyasi Rao similarly requested us to provide food for their Sanitary And as of today about 2,49,635 Food Packets were given on May 1st.
Not only food but other essentials like shampoo, brush Brush, Paste, Soap, Coconut Oil, Comb, Shave Foam and Razor were provided to 2000 people living in GVMC Public Shelters.
Also 100 Tube Lights and 80 Ceiling Fans were given to the Central Prison.
