City lensman B K Agarwal conferred with highest honour in photography


City based photographer B K Agarwal has been conferred Honorary Masters (Hon M TPAS) by Tricity Photo Art Society, India. Masters is the highest honour in photography and is conferred on people for their mastery over the medium and consistent service in the promotion of the Art of photography. The club selects one deserving candidate every year in the country to confer this honour. And this year, it is a Vizagite.

B K Agarwal started his journey in the path of photography at the tender age of 12 when his brother gifted him a box camera. With five beautiful sisters and their friends to pose at will, he did not have to look outside home for models to practice upon. This put him into specializing portrait photography.

His migration to Visakhapatnam in 1981 to start his family business of automobile tyres and tubes also gave him added advantage of starting a photography club and coming in contact with stalwarts like B.Rajan Babu whom he always regards as his Guru.

B K Agarwal, Fellow of India International Photographic Council, is the only fellow of IIPC in Fashion and advertising Photography so far and the youngest recipient of this honour in India that time. Conferred with the Lifetime Achievement Award by Academy of Visual Media, New Delhi and winner of hundreds of National and International awards.

Agarwal’s Images is now completing 21 years of its commercial service in Visakhapatnam, specialising in and known throughout the world for his matrimonial portraits, family portraits, he is also known for fashion, glamour and Industrial works.

He also trains beginners and advanced photographers by taking regular classes on Sundays. B K Agarwal-FIIPC, ESFIP, Hony FAPPA and Hony FSAP is a regular trainer to professional and commercial photographers and have conducted several workshops on Studio Lighting in places like Delhi, Kolkata, Kausani, Varanasi, Goa, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Jabalpur, Jamshedpur and dozens of places in Andhra Pradesh. He also takes regular free weekend classes for amateur photographers in Visakhapatnam.

Presently he is the Vice President of Andhra Pradesh Photography Academy. His other interests involve Yoga, playing Badminton and table tennis. He is a regular traveller and has travelled extensively throughout world.
