Confirmed COVID-19 cases climb up to eight in Andhra Pradesh


The 25 year old youth returned from London on March 18 and landed at the Chennai airport. From there he returned to his home which is at Srikalahasti.
He reached his home on March19 by car and it wasn’t immediately that the symptoms showed up. It was after four days on March 23 that the symptoms of COVID-19 showed up and he was rushed to the Sri Venkateswara Ramnarain Ruia Government General Hospital in Tirupati and the positive result came on Tuesday.
His close associates and contacts have been put under observation. The Foreign returnees as of now is about 14,907 with 453 new returnees as identified till Tuesday. They all have been kept under home isolation and 84 are admitted in the isolation ward to keep a check on them.
About 62 samples were tested in the state and in which 61 yielded negative results. Per day 1000 samples are being dealt medical staff are doing their work efficiently and doing work round the clock.
