Covid 19 updates Visakhapatnam & Andhra Pradesh july 21st

Andhra Pradesh became the fifth state in the country and third in south India, after Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, to cross the 50,000 mark since the first case reported on March 12. The state has so far recorded 53,724 cases, including 696 deaths. On 20 July, the state reported 4,074 new cases and 54 deaths. So far, 24,228 COVID patients have recovered and have been discharged from various hospitals in the state.

The Covid 19 cases in the Visakhapatnam district shot passed the 3000 mark, with the district recording 209 cases on Monday. The total no of cases stands at 3143. The death toll due to Covid-19 in the district to 53.

The State has been registering thousands of cases every day, while the recovery rate has plummeted to 45.09 per cent, the third-lowest among all states. The baffling surge in the number of positive cases and the death toll has put a burden on the health infrastructure. However, the mortality rate is stable at 1.29 per cent.
