In fact, many people are not aware of the fact that 85 percent of those who have tested positive for the virus got cured by availing themselves treatment while in home isolation. The State Government is distributing kits and boosting the morale of the Covid affected saying that the virus can be cured from home.
Compared to the first wave of Covid-19, the second wave is more dangerous and spreading fast. There are over thousands of active cases in the state putting severe pressure on the availability of beds. As the situation worsens, the patients are facing the problem of shortage of oxygen as they have had difficulty in breathing. Some people are able to get rid of the virus without any treatment at all. As mentioned above, 85 percent are able to free from the virus by receiving treatment in-home care. People are worrying about their health and are not able to observe these facts.
The Government encourages those who tested positive to remain in-home quarantine. There is a plan to treat them. Once a person tests positive for the virus, they will receive a phone call to enquire about their symptoms and how they are keeping up their health. If the symptoms are mild and if they are asymptomatic, they have to receive treatment in-home care. They will be guided on what type of treatment they should avail themselves. A call centre has been set up with 104. If the mild symptoms are worsening, they will be referred to quarantine centres. If breathing levels goes down, they are being referred to hospitals.
To enquire about the health of the patients, ANMs, ASHA workers, village secretariat personnel, volunteers will be deployed. They will find out the status of the progress of the patient or otherwise of it. For those who spend time in-home quarantine, the state government distributed Covid-19 kits. In fact, many people are able to come out of the Covid19 with the help of these kits. ANMs and ASHA workers deliver these kits at the doorstep of the patients. These kits also contain masks, gloves and hand sanitisers.
