The mortal remains of Routhu Jagadeesh, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Jawan, who got martyrdom during an encounter with Maoists in Bijapur forests of Chhattisgarh on Saturday, were cremated with state honours at his hometown Gajularega area in Vizianagaram Town on Tuesday morning.
Several police officers, including DIG (Visakha Range) LKV Ranga Rao and some CRPF officers laid a wreath on the body of Jagadeesh. Some police officers shouldered his funeral pyre during the funeral procession. Joint Collector (Vizianagaram) GC Kishore Kumar and a few others paid tributes to Jagadeesh and they participated in the funeral of the slain Jawan on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh government.
The death of Jagadeesh shocked the entire Vizianagaram. Hundreds of people, including friends, relatives, family members and others took part in the funeral procession of Jagadeesh on Tuesday morning and raised slogans praising his supreme sacrifice. The police officers and the political leaders visited the slain Jawan’s house to pay tributes to the martyr. They prayed to the almighty to give peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family members to bear the irreparable loss.
It may be recalled that the 27-year-old Jagadeesh’s marriage was scheduled to be held in May and he had planned for shopping in the week. Jagadeesh studied in a local school and completed his degree in a private college. He dreamed of joining the armed forces since his college days and finally made it in 2014 and joined Cobra 210 of CRPF and he was praised on a few occasions for his skills in the force.
