On November 14th every year, Childrens’ Day is celebrated all across India. The day emphasises on the importance of giving love, attention, and affection to children. Childrens Day is a commemmorative date celebrated annually in honour of children, whose date of observance varies by country.
In 1925, International Childrens Day was first proclaimed in Geneva during the World Conference on Child Welfare. Every year, India marks November 14th as Childrens Day as a tribute to India’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru who was born on the day. Nehru’s birth anniversary is celebrated as Childrens Day in the country as a tribute to his contribution towards building the nation.
On the occasion of the year Childrens Day ie., 14.11.2020 and Deepavali festival is also falls on the same day. Under the instructions from State Bank of India, Amaravati LHO, AO, Visakhapatnam has organised a CSR Activity today across these three coastal districts.
To bring light in the eyes of School Children the CSR activity is carried out in six different places viz., Aradhana Children Home, Narava, Omkar and Lions Education Society, Sarthak Education Trust, Spoorthi Education Trust for Disabled, Prajwalvani Welfare Society for disabled and Arunodaya Vidyalaya Samstha, Challavanipeta, Srikakulam District. A school bag contains lunch box, crayon box, school note books, Tea shirt, and a cap are distributed to 626 school going children.
Speaking on the occasion at Aradhana Children Home, DGM Mr.Rangarajan has said that sbi has taken up several CSR activities like distribution of grocery kits to the migrant people, donation of Ventilators to KGH, Visakhapatnam during Pandemic time in May, JUne and now this is the third such activity happened across the 13 districts of AP covering a total 4806 students. He also said that Bank would undertake such activities in future also. He has greeted the students for their better future and overall personal development. He has greeted all the children on this occasion.
All the students are very happy and looked very cheerful. Chief Manager Ramakrishna, PRO, Rama Murthy Naidu and AO staff, Gopala Krishna, Dr.Basava Prasad, Srinivas, Chari and Mrs.Priya Bandhavi, Coordinator of Aaradhana Children Home have participated in this programme.
