AP DGP Gautam D Sawang heaped praise on Rambilli police personnel for their humanity in retrieving a decomposed body in Sitapalem village under Rambilli police station limits on Friday. The DGP congratulated the police personnel for displaying commitment in discharging duties and making the department proud across the country.
The Rambilli police in Visakhapatnam district have retrieved an unidentified body in a decomposed state and carried it on their shoulders with the help of long sticks for three kilometers. From there, the body was taken in a vehicle to the mortuary in Yalamanchili. The body washed ashore in Sitapalem village on Friday. SI Arun Kiran registered the case and informed the villagers in the surrounding area to help carry the corpse that was three kilometers away from the village. None of the villagers came forward to extend help till Saturday.
When no one came forward, SI Arun Kumar, ASI Dora, Head Constable Masenu, Constable Narsingh Rao and Home Guard Kinda Babu brought the decomposed body from the shore by wrapping it in a cover. The local people who refused to extend help appreciated the humanity shown by the police department. The DGP extended special congratulations to Rambilli SubInspector and staff for the humane act.
