E-passes for travelling in times of emergency in the state of Andhra Pradesh will be issued from today. On Sunday the Director General of Police Gautam D Sawang said that keeping in view of the emergency needs, modalities for issuing e-passes have been prepared. On receipt of requests and enquiries from the public through social media and other helplines regarding the regulations for entering or travelling outside the state during the curfew hours from 12 noon to 6 am, we have decided to issue e-passes. The framing of guidelines is over and one can obtain e-passes from the SP of the concerned district.
DIG Sawang appealed to the public that only in case of the necessary or emergency public should venture out for travel. However, the restrictions on inter-state movement will continue till the government takes a decision, he said. Stern action will be taken against those violating the curfew. Sawang said that everyone should wear double masks and keep sanitiser handy.
He said that one should come out of the home, except in emergencies and wearing of a face mask was mandatory “Use sanitisers liberally as it could save your life as well as the lives of others. We all can effectively defeat Covid by taking the utmost precautions,” Sawang said. He said that those who are exhibiting Covid symptoms and who are in home isolation should avail of the services of ‘104’, ‘108’ made available by the government. Section 144 will remain in force in the state until further orders from the state government. Meetings and conferences of any political party are not permitted as long as the partial curfew is in force,” Sawang said.
