The Sixth International Yoga day was observed by Waltair Division, East Coast Railway (EcoR) with adherence to the health protocol. The World Health Organization (WHO) mentions yoga as a means to improve health in its Global Action Plan on Physical Activity 2018–2030: More active people for a healthier world.
A number of enthusiasts participated in the Yoga from their residence apart from a few participants in small groups who performed yoga at Waltair Railway Indoor Sports Enclave, East Point Rest House, Visakhapatnam. Yoga was also organised in small groups at the sub-divisional headquarters of the Division. Divisional Railway Manager, Chetan Kumar Shrivastava; ADRM (Infra) Akshay Saxena; ADRM (operations) P.Ramachandra Rao, some branch officers performed various asanas of Yoga at the residence of DRM. While addressing on the eve of Yoga day, DRM Chetan Kumar advised to adopt Yoga to improve physical and mental health that gives a boost to one’s immunity.
He also said that during this time of Corona pandemic, performing yoga at home and with family will enhance mental wellbeing. Commandos for Railway Safety [CORAS] in Waltair Division also performed Yogasanas on the eve of International Yoga Day Celebrations.
Branch Officers, Staff, RPF personnel, Sports persons, Scouts & Guides took part in the Yoga from their units in small groups.
