Four women in the city are into effective waste management


Scheduling work for themselves these four women have taken an initiative on their own to connect with Indian Youth for society (IYFS) where they have been working towards effective waste management.
On the eve of International Women’s day, they were felicitated for their efforts towards a sustainable environment. From separating dry waste to wet waste and not using plastic they are doing their part to keep the environment clean.
Sena Vijaya Lakshmi who is a software engineer and a resident of Vishalakshinagar collects and deposits dry waste with IYFS.
All the other women too i.e Motamarri Lakshmi Sudha, Yendireddy Rama Lakshmi and Savaram Lakshmi all the city dwellers are doing their bit from recycling waste to not using plastic.
After observing their activities keenly, Dr. D Lakshmi Tuylasi, assistant medical officer of health, Zone-6, GVMC felicitated the women. Speaking about it further IYFS president Y Appala Reddy said “These women do their part and give us the waste on Saturday. Even though for now the number of women is less, it will definitely motivate further women to join.
