Aishwarya Rastogi, a SP-rank officer took charge as Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order-I) of Visakhapatnam Commissionerate, here on June 16. In a conversation with Hello Vizag, he shares his plans to make the city of Destiny a safer place.
On being asked about the future plans for Vizag, Rastogi, said that since Visakhapatnam is termed as a Smart city, the police department would leverage technology for better and smart policing. “Since the population in the city has been increasing, many factors like traffic, safety, law and order, etc need to be taken care. Hence, the use of technology will help in bridging the gap,” the young police officer said.
Since he believes in basic and visible policing along with strengthening beat policing, Rastogi said that the police force would work together to further bring down the crime rate in the city.
“Our focus will be on women and children safety to attain a peaceful and sustainable environment. With stability comes good law and order which will help in attracting investors,” added Rastogi saying that Vizag is a peaceful city with content people and it will be ensured that the DNA of the city is maintained.
He further stated that good professional policing (like in metropolitan cities) will lead the way in making a safe and secure environment in the Port city.
He urged the people to come forward and share grievances so that quick actions can be taken. “Public feedback is important and we strive to connect to people in resolving their issues. People can connect to us on social media and we will ensure that a proper system is in place. People should be reassured and find it easy to approach the police officials,” said Rastogi (32) who had earlier served in Vizag rural as ACP Narsipatnam in 2016-17 and as SP Nellore last year.
The police officer who is from Uttar Pradesh concluded by saying that the ‘3F’s’ in policing which will be implemented are Friendly, Firm and Fair policing.
