Thousands of people travel of Hyderabad to Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh every day. While some prefer trains, some prefer travelling by road. The traffic in these routes increases during festivals and holidays. Hyderabad seems to be entirely vacant during Sankranthi holidays. We observe many traffic jams in the Vizag-Hyderabad highway during festive seasons.
Keeping all these things in consideration. Central government granted permission for another high way between Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam.
The Union Ministry of Transport and National Highways has ordered the designation of a four-lane road from Khammam to Devarapally in Andhra Pradesh. The road is also numbered 765DG. Completion of this 158 km long route, will increase connectivity between the Telugu states.
It is known that the Center has already decided to build this road as a greenway. This is a connection route between Telangana and Krishnapatnam, Visakhapatnam ports. There is already a National Highway from Hyderabad to Suryapet. And four lane expansion work is underway from Suryapeta to Khammam. The road from Khammam to Devarapalli is to be widened to 4 lanes.
There is already a 4-lane route from Devarapalli to Visakhapatnam. If everything goes as planned, it will be just a 625 kms ride from Hyderabad to Visakhapatnam via Devarapalli. The path becomes wider with 4 rows.
