In what can be called a unique initiative for the common man in Andhra Pradesh, CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy today unveiled digital payment system in village and ward secretariats office in association with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and Canara Bank. As on date, the services started in 15,000 village and ward secretariat offices across the state. The state government is providing more than 543 types of services and customers can avail services via digital payment.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy said, “The aim is to provide government services to every nook and corner. For this, we have brought in village volunteers and ward secretaries. Through them, we are extending more than 545 government services at the doorstep of common people in the state of Andhra Pradesh. For this, we assigned on volunteer for taking responsibility for every fifty families. For every 2000 population, we opened one village and ward secretariat office for the ease of common people.
With this, Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy said, we took another step forward. We have brought a digital payment system. On this occasion, Canara Bank was congratulated by CM YS Jagan. Ministers Peddireddy Ramachandrareddy and Principal Secretary Ajay Jain were present on the occasion. Canara Bank MD, CEO LV Prabhakar, NPCI MD, CEO Dilip Asbe participated in the video conference.
