Andhra Pradesh government, on Wednesday, fixed the admission fees for the private unaided professional institutions offering B.Tech, B.Arch, Marine Engineering, and B. Pharma courses for the block period of 2020-21 to 2022-23. The fee is different for all colleges and the amount is ranging from Rs 35,000 to Rs 70,000.
The A.P. Higher Education Regulatory and Monitoring Commission (APHERMC), held three meetings in December this year and determined the fee structure for B.Tech., B.Arch. and Marine Engineering courses and B. Pharma for the block period 2020-21 to 2022-23 in respect of Private Unaided Professional Institutions in the State of Andhra Pradesh. The same fee shall continue for the students admitted during the block period of 2020-21 to 2022-23 till they complete the course.
The institutions whose affiliations are not extended by the affiliating Universities for the academic year 2020-21 are not entitled to collect any fee. The institution shall not charge either directly or indirectly any other amount over and above the fee fixed by the government and if any other amount is charged under any other head like donations, the same would amount to the charging of capitation fee and in that case, the institution shall be liable to be prosecuted under Section 9 of Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions and Prohibition of Capitation Fee) Act, 1983 (Act No. 5 of 1983) apart from imposing an appropriate penalty under the APHERMC Act, 2019 and the APHERMC Rules, 2019 as amended subsequently from time to time.
