Helmet mandatory for pillion riders as well – Visakhapatnam Traffic Police

A lot of two-wheeler riders donning a helmet has now turned into a common sight in Visakhapatnam. Though many still tend to go away with it, there are many who are strictly following the rule.
The Visakhapatnam Traffic Police on Thursday have issued a statement that it is mandatory for both, the rider and the pillion rider of a two-wheeler, to wear a helmet. This was stated by Traffic ADCP M Ramesh Kumar.
This news has already met with mixed reviews just within hours of the statement being released. Entire social media is filled with lot of Vizagites raising complaints about the deteriorating condition of the roads and asking the GVMC to repair them first, while a few others even passed bold statements enquiring if the money collection turned out to be less and this was some sort of a new scheme to extort money from the citizens.
