It is learnt that 12 out of the 17 had attended religious congregation meeting that was held at Nizamuddin in Delhi from March 13 to 15. Now the overall count goes to 40 from 23.
Sources say that over 700 had attended that religious meet from various districts of the State.
The district administrations have swung into action to isolate all those who had attended the meet. In visakhapatnam it is learnt that about 40 have been insolated.
It was a tense situation after the series of six death happened in Telangana due to COVID-19. They were all part of the religious congregation which happened in Nizamuddin area, New Delhi.
After this event, on Monday night about 41 persons as of now from Visakhapatnam district were admitted in isolation ward at Government Hospital for Chest and Communicable Diseases (GHCCD), they all attended the religious congregation in New Delhi. The officials are tracing out the list of people who further attended the three-day congregation and people who were travelling in the train from Nizammuddin to Visakhapatnam.
The religious congregation happened in this month (March 13-15) and it is said over 2,000 people attended the congregation. The people were from various states and countries like Malaysia, Saudi Arabia.
Several districts in AP are put on high alert as the risk of spreading of novel coronavirus is much higher. The only basic way of its prevention is social distancing and people with symptoms need to isolate and report it faster to halt the further spread.
