Reliance Industries 43rd Annual General Meeting is held today, where Mukesh Ambani announced that Google will invest Rs. 33,737 cr for 7.7% stake in Jio Platforms. The highlights of the meeting were the announcement of Jio Glass, Jio TV Plus, Jio 5G solution. He also said that Jio’s video conferencing app JioMeet has seen 5 million downloads.
Google-Jio deal: Reliance announced that Google will invest Rs. 33,737 crore for taking up 7.7 percent stake in Jio platforms.
Jio Glass: It is the latest innovation of Jio, It will be a next level technology that provides best in class mixed reality services. Jio Glass will give the 3D virtual class rooms a new definition.
JioMart will work with WhatsApp: JioMart is built for kiranas and also customers, which was launched a earlier in 200 cities. JioMart and Whatsapp will work closely to create growth opportunities for millions of Indian small merchants and also would be helpful for customers to easily transact with kirana shops.
Jio 5G solution: With an aim to provide a 5G service as a part of complete ‘Make in India’, project. Jio has developed a complete 5G solution that will enable them to launch a world class 5G service in India and will also be launched in the global telecom sector. Trails will start soon, with an aim to make it ready for field deployment by next year.
Jio TV plus: It is created in a way that it delivers TV channels, movies, shows and many more from various apps and services. It provides the feature aggregated content from over 12 leading global OTT players like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney Hotstar, Youtube, Zee5 etc.
