Actress Ananya Nagalla of Mallesham fame will be back on-screen alongside Pawan Kalyan, Anjali and Nivetha Thomas, in the soon-to-be-released Vakeel Saab. The actress, who is happy to see Telugu actresses playing lead roles, says she has no inhibitions in playing any good, meaty role that comes her way.
The film Vakeel Saab is currently the talk of the town as power star Pawan Kalyan is going to be seen on the big screen after almost three years. The film, a remake of the Hindi blockbuster Pink, is set to hit theatres on April 9. The film directed by Venu Sriram and produced by Dil Raju, stars Nivetha Thomas, Anjali, Ananya Nagalla, and Prakash Raj playing pivotal roles. The actress Ananya, who proved her acting prowess in Mallesham, now plays a damsel in distress in the film
Sharing how she came on board this film and how she bagged this character, a role which everyone will sympathise with, the actress shares, “Venu Sriram approached me, initially. Although I got through the audition and started shooting for the film, I was not sure if I am really a part of such a big film, because of my previous experiences of facing many rejections.”
This is the first time, the actress is shooting alongside a big star and her joy knows no bounds. Speaking about her bond with Pawan Kalyan while shooting for the film, Ananya says, “Although I knew earlier that Pawan Kalyan sir is a part of this film, I was not sure if he is really was, until I met him on the sets of the film.
Initially, I was scared to speak to PK sir. He understood that I was nervous and he initiated the conversation by asking about my background, work experience with Mallesham, and more. Since we have Prakash Raj sir and Anjali on board, who are extremely funny on sets, PK sir too joins them in tickling our funny bones. Apart from this, I got to learn a lot from them. We always had intense conversations about helping other women, and the society at large,” she adds.
The actress shares screen space with Anjali and Nivetha. With full confidence, she says, “ although I am inexperienced when compared to them, I never felt the completion. It’s always fun with Anjali on sets thanks to her chill jovial nature, while Nivetha is very intense and hardworking.
There is a lot to learn from her.” Ananya, who has her hands full right now, feels she is in the right place at the right time. The actress, being a Teluguite, says there is a barrier between the industry and Telugu actresses — that the Teluguites are intimidating and not very cooperative to work with.
Ananya, who was an IT professional during her initial days of her acting career, is now a full-time actress and sees no limitations in playing someone on screen if the character impresses her. “Right now, I want to choose characters that are bubbly in nature, but I want to do performance-oriented films as well. If I like the character that comes my way, I don’t think I will have any inhibitions playing it,” says Ananya who has dotted two other films whose details are yet to be revealed.
