India crosses 9,000+ mark in a single day, with the highest recorded increase in cases in the last 24 hours


India has recorded 9,851 new cases in the past 24 hours, making it the biggest one day jump recorded. The total number of cases has increased to 2,27,051 cases as of today.

India has also recorded 273 deaths in the past 24 hours, increasing the death toll to 6,348, according to the official website of the health ministry which supplies information on Covid-19 cases.

The number of active cases is 1,12,156, and the number of discharged and cured patients stands at 1,08,519. The sudden spike has caused much chaos, as relaxations have been announced in most of the states from June 8th.

The number of cases in Andhra Pradesh stands at 4,112 with the death toll at 71 as of today. The number of active cases are 1,512 and the discharged patients are 2,529. The number of cases in Visakhapatnam stands at 124.
