India recorded 8,000+ cases with a 2,000 case drop for the first time, death toll surpasses


India has recorded 8,444 new cases in the past 24 hours, making it the lowest in this week. The total number of cases has increased to 2,67,249 cases as of today.

India has also recorded 271 deaths in the past 24 hours, increasing the death toll to 7,478, according to the official website of the health ministry which supplies information on Covid-19 cases.

The number of active cases is 1,30,578, and the number of discharged and cured patients stands at 1,29,178. The sudden spike has caused much chaos, as relaxations have been announced in most of the states from June 8th.

The number of cases in Andhra Pradesh stands at 4,813 with the death toll at 75 as of today. The number of active cases are 2,018 and the discharged patients are 2,720. The number of cases in Visakhapatnam stands at 199, with 20 new cases in the last 24 hours, making it a double digit count for four days in a row.
